Claims on Barefoot Running

There are several of people who considered themselves a group of runners on the fringe of the running community. They are call themselves fringe because they a very small in numbers, but are very vocal and seem to get a lot of press in the news media for their cause. They believe that runners should not be using running shoes and should be running barefoot. They have their belief that running shoes are dangerous and it can be the cause for most of the injuries that are seen in runners. They all have the idea that running barefoot strengthens the muscles of the foot and improves biomechanics. Yet, they don’t have the evidence that might support their beliefs.
