Recently, my mother started breaking out in rashes that looked much like hives. We couldn’t imagine what was causing her to react this way, so we scheduled a trip to the doctor. After a series of allergy tests, he concluded that she had formed a new tea allergy. My mother loves tea. Coming from England, she is used to her traditional afternoon cup as well as one after most of her meals. I don’t think that she can imagine a normal life without her daily cups of tea. We have tried regular and herbal varieties with no improvement. I guess that it’s coffee or hot chocolate or nothing from now on.
