How Are Tax Lien Certificates Organized?

August 13th, 2010 by admin

Without proper research on a property, all you have is a plot number. Using county records, you may be able to find that property. Searching online can sometimes help, but not all county websites have plots laid out in nice neat maps. Oftentimes, you’ll have to travel to the county records building and search for it. Otherwise, you may end up purchasing the tax lien certificates to a plot of dirt instead of the four bedroom house you thought you were buying. Doing a physical inspection of the property takes time and usually limits you to your local area of a few counties.
