When my son wanted to go to summer sports camp last year, I thought that it would be a simple matter to call the doctor’s office to get a copy of his immunizations. It turned out to be a major headache because they seemed to have accidentally put his in another file of a boy with a similar name. It took several calls before they were located and I was finally able to go and pick them up. This year I anticipated the same problem, so I started calling two full weeks before he actually needed them. To my surprise, the clinic had them ready for pick-up almost immediately. When I commented on the difference, they said their new Pediatric EMR system was much more efficient. I couldn’t agree more.
